Pregnancy Announcement to Dad Story Time:
When I found out that I was pregnant for the first time, we were on vacation in Croatia and my mom naturally just picked up the clues from my seasickness on the ferry back from Hvar, haha.
When we got back to Canada, I’d been using the Baby Center app to track my pregnancy since I found out and loved the baby size updates.
Since I was 14 weeks pregnant and my baby was the size of a lemon according to the app, I decided to give me dad a lemon and ask him why he thinks I gave him one.
His guesses were hilarious and my mom got the whole thing on video!

Pregnancy Announcement to Sister Story Time:
One week before we told my dad, my sister wanted to have a coffee date with my mom and I.
As we sat together at the kitchen table, she handed me a gift bag with something in it.
I reached inside to find a baby onesie (you can customize this one to make it special for the people you’re announcing to!) that said “I Love My Auntie” on it and I honestly thought she was calling me out for not telling her about my pregnancy yet!
Turns out, this was her way of announcing that she was pregnant to me, lol.
So, yeah, she found out that I was pregnant about a minute after I opened the bag – no fun surprise on my end!
Our daughters were born just 7 days apart 🙂

How to Choose the Right Pregnancy Announcement Idea
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, here’s my honest advice.
Pick something that feels like you – it doesn’t need to be perfect!
This is a joyful occasion that’s to be celebrated not stressed over.
So, don’t overthink it – often times, the simplest thing is the most meaningful and this moment is for your little family first!
Unique Pregnancy Announcement Idea: Recreate a Photo of Your Mom When She Was Pregnant with You!
I was so excited to recreate a very special of my mom near the end of my pregnancy.
I think she was about 37 weeks pregnant with me when my dad took this photo of her with his collector car.
So one day, when I was a few weeks away from my due date, I asked dad if we could do the same thing.
It was really neat to post the two photos side by side on social media too and our friends and family loved it!
Here are the photos.

You probably won’t have this kind of bump for a while during your first pregnancy but if you want to wait to post something like this later on or have a photo of your mom from earlier on, this could make a really cool memory for your family too!
Final Thoughts on Creating a Pregnancy Announcement
There’s no right way to announce a pregnancy and just like the pregnancy itself, your announcement can be as unique as you are 🙂
Whether you go big and creative or quiet and sweet, what matters most is celebrating this new life that you’ve been entrusted to care for.
If you enjoyed these ideas, be sure to save this post for later.
How will you announce your pregnancy?
Biggest congratulations to you, new mama!
Wishing you all the best as you start this amazing new chapter of your life.
