How to Share Spotify Playlist Link

Before we learn how to use each method to embed playlists into our content, we’ll need to learn where to actually find the link to your playlists.

Let’s see where it’s located on the Spotify:

  • Mobile App
  • Web App
  • Desktop App

Spotify App on Mobile

Open the Spotify App on your phone.

Click Your Library and choose the Playlist you’d like to embed in WordPress.

Click the three dots at the top right corner.

Click Share.

Select Copy Link.

Click Your Library and choose the Playlist you’d like to embed in WordPress.

Click the three dots below the Play button and Playlist cover.

Embed Spotify Playlist: WordPress Guide

Now, that we’ve found our Spotify playlist link, let’s embed it into WordPress using one of the methods below.

Use Elementor, Block Editor, or Classic Editor to embed a Spotify playlist into your posts and pages and/or Widget to add one to your Sidebar or Footer!

Elementor

Navigate to the Page or Post you’d like to embed your Playlist in and click Edit in Elementor.

Click the Elements icon at the top right of the Elementor Editor Sidebar.

Type SoundCloud into the Search Bar.

Drag the SoundCloud widget into the Drag widget here area.

Paste the link you copied earlier into the Link field.

Block Editor

Select the Page or Post you’d like to to embed your Playlist in and click Add Block.

Type Spotify in the Search Bar and select Spotify block.

Paste the link you copied earlier into the Embed field.

Classic Editor

Select the Page or Post you’d like to to embed your Playlist in and click Add Block.

Paste the URL you copied earlier into the Editor.

The URL will automatically convert into an embedded player!

Widget

From your WordPress Dashboard, hover over Appearance and click Widgets.

Under Available Widgets, select Text Widget.

Choose the Widget area where you’d like to embed a Spotify playlist.

Type the Spotify shortcode [spotify url].

Replace url with the link to the playlist you copied earlier.

Troubleshooting

The two issues below are the most common reasons your Spotify Playlist might not be properly configured just yet.

Spotify URL is hyperlinked

Be sure to check that your URL is not hyperlinked – is the URL showing in your theme’s link colour? Let’s remove that hyperlink by clicking the Remove icon.

Once it’s unlinked, your URL will return to black text.

Spotify URL/Shortcode is not on its own line

Be sure to place the URL and/or shortcode on its own line – meaning no character or whitespaces should appear before or after the URL/shortcode!

Balkan Music Playlist: Balkan Boss Babe

Have you ever wondered what kinds of music other bloggers use to get motivated? Want to share your favourite tunes with your Instagram followers but don’t have Instagram Music available in your region (#CanadianProblems)?

When you embed a Spotify playlist in WordPress like the one I did below, you can!

Just share a graphic for your new post in Instagram stories or pin your latest content to your Pinterest profile!

For my fellow Balkan and Croatian disapora, this playlist includes tracks from:

  • Connect
  • Jala Brat
  • Corona
  • Relja
  • Gasttozz
  • Buba Corelli
  • 2bona (living for them at the moment!)
  • plus more

Nothing gets me more pumped up than music from the motherland. This one consists of a lot of hip hop and gets me in the mood for content creation tasks like designing pins, Instagram templates, freebies, etc.

Never heard music from this part of the world before? You might be pleasantly surprised 😉
