Whether it’s nap time or bedtime, being able to peek in without waking your baby is such a game changer.

This is a great option and that doesn’t require the internet to use it!

2. Baby Carrier

If you’re gifting to a busy mom, this is one is gold.

Many babies have a difficult time sleeping in their cribs (especially at first) and this can help baby get much needed rest while mom can still move around.

Being able to wear baby while cooking, cleaning, or going for a walk to get some fresh air is a game changer.

This is a great option that’s highly recommended – I used it with both of my babies!

3. Diaper Caddy Filled with Essentials

This is one of my favorite gifts because it’s super practicaland very pretty when you put it together!

Its also something she’ll use every day, multiple times a day.

Grab a cute caddy (this one is beautiful and affordable) and fill it with:

Diapers (I always used these with my kids)
Wipes (these are a far better option than other wipes on the market)
Diaper cream (this one doesn’t have the same chemicals as many others and is the only one I used with my kids!)
Burp cloths (moms often feed baby shortly after a change so storing these nearby helps her stat organized – I got these because they turn into bibs later on and ended up using them for 2 years)
Thermometer (in case the little one isn’t feeling well, having this nearby will help mom check his or her temperature)
Vitamin D drops (storing these here is a good reminder to mom to make sure baby gets vitamin D daily – these are great)

Also PSA: Baby shoes are a waste of money and will not get used – they just get kicked off and parents lose them constantly until they’re down to one shoe, haha. Save the footwear for when baby starts crawling – and climbing!

This is such an underrated gift and so thoughtful.

You can include:

Snacks (these are great lactation cookies that actually work)
A large water bottle (I love this one because there’s no risk of leaking from the bottle)
Burp cloths (again, can’t say enough about these things)
Nipple cream (this is one of the best natural options that moms don’t need to worry about their baby ingesting)

These are one of those “you can never have too many” items.

Here are a few things to be mindful of when buying baby shower gifts:

Moms often receive too many newborn sized baby clothes – and diapers! This phase goes so quickly and often times, babies will go right into size one. So if you do want to buy clothes, choose 3 to 6 months, or 6 to 12 months as she likely won’t get many items in these sizes.
Bottle feeding items and pacifiers – unless she’s specifically asked for these things, they might not get used. I invested in (and wasted hundreds of dollars on) pacifiers, a breastfeeding pump, and bottles that I never ended up using.
Overly complicated gadgets
Anything that creates extra work (hand wash only bottles for instance!)
